Brief Introduction: Albert Gao has over 13 years of intellectual property experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He is a practicing Patent Agent in China and also holds the Legal Professional Qualification and Licensed Pharmacist Certification. Additionally, he is a Senior Intellectual Property Engineer, with his expertise being widely recognized through roles including Youth Committee Member of the Medical IP Research Committee of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association and Expert of the Jiangxi Provincial Intellectual Property Expert Database. Albert Gao holds a master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Peking Union Medical College.
Work Experience: Albert Gao’s distinguished career began as a patent examiner at CNIPA, where he examined over 700 pharmaceutical patent applications, gaining deep insight into examination standards and practices in China, the U.S., and Europe. He further refined his skills at leading patent consulting firms, directing dozens of patent analysis projects covering retrieval, competitive landscape assessment, and risk mitigation. Prior to joining SRBM, Albert Gao spent six years at a large pharmaceutical group, where he served as Deputy Intellectual Property Director. In this role, he led patent strategy and enforcement for multiple blockbuster products and spearheaded critical initiatives such as patent due diligence, China-U.S. patent invalidation and litigation proceedings, and end-to-end IP management for innovative drug candidates.
